Singer feels that it is the moral obligation of all peoples to assist others all around the world when they are experiencing times of famine and hunger. This paper discusses many of the aspects of Singer's article and also includes an analyzation involving an article by Jan Naverson titled 'Feeding the Hungry.' The analyzation illustrates how Naverson's philosophical arguments would address the arguments of Singer. Naverson argues that aiding those in famine situations, though charitable and admirable, is not necessary and involves much more chance for error, in relationship to the abusive potential it offers to the government, as well as other areas of concern such as altering a culture's structure.
