Deconstructing Film and Cross-Referencing Shakespeare’s “Hamlet" and “Richard the Third”
[ send me this paper ]
This 5 page report discusses the fact
that the unique aspect of the universality of very well-known
works being turned into a cinema application is that the audience
has easy access to the original text and, in fact, may have seen
the story presented in a different context, in a number of
circumstances. They are likely to know the story and are
interested to see how it will be presented in a new format.
Therefore, the ability to cross-reference the original work by
Shakespeare and the modern adaptation serve as a valuable tool in
defining style, impact, and effectiveness of the film adaptation
of one of Shakespeare’s works. No sources listed.
