Stalin And The Great Purge
[ send me this paper ]
10 pages in length. Russia went from one totalitarian lunatic to another when Stalin took over Lenin's reign. While he mirrored the vast majority of Lenin's unsavory political tactics, there was one element that he devised on his own that even Lenin thought to be unacceptable: the Great Purge. Clearly, this historically bloody event took the lives of Stalin's own Communist members, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that he held no respect for human life – even those of his comrades. Sweden's Economy
[ send me this paper ]
A 12 page paper discussing the economy of Sweden. Sweden's welfare state is legendary. The government provides support to individuals in virtually every aspect of their lives, yet without venturing so far into socialism that individuals are unable to determine and follow their own paths. The cost of free university education; health care for only a nominal fee; and 15 months maternity leave at 80 percent of salary is the highest personal and corporate tax rates in the world. Though tax rates of between 50 and 60 percent would be crushing in other nations and stall economies, they have worked quite well in Sweden in the past. There is concern that the situation can continue, but of course the Swedish government is aware of the challenges before it. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

The Amsterdam Treaty and the “Constitutionalization” of the
European Union
[ send me this paper ]
This 9 page report discusses the Amsterdam
Treaty and whether or not it serves as an example of efforts
being made to “constituionalize” the European Union. While the
treaty was (and is) often dismissed as simply the framework for
establishing the technical and legal framework of the actual
switch to the common currency of the euro, it also presented
other another important goal in its efforts to establish “an area

of Queen Elizabeth and her brood. One of the
farthest thoughts from our mind may be to associate
the English with Buddhism, but that is certainly
one of the things that is growing into a meaningful
presence. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
