The Ottomans And The Armenians: Casualties Of War Or
Genocide?
[ send me this paper ]
10 pages in length. Assessing the Armenian genocide not only immediately brings to mind the staggering numbers of people in this murderous episode, but it also warrants re-evaluation of whether or not this occurrence was truly mass extermination. While there is no denying an Armenian and Muslim tragedy, one might readily argue that it was not genocide as proposed by some. Such supporters claim that the young Turks who annihilated one and a half million Armenians possessed the same blatant disregard as those who orchestrated the Holocaust, while opposing voices – careful to acknowledge the existence of hostilities – vehemently deny the fundamental accusation of genocide.
