The Rosenbergs' Guilt / More than Questionable
[ send me this paper ]
A 15 page paper discussing the injustices suffered by Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. America's hysteria over the Red Threat needed outlet, and Joe McCarthy's witch hunts had not yet begun. The Rosenbergs provided a scapegoat image through which the entire country could feel better: the 'boys' in Korea would not be facing the horrors of the new type of warfare had it not been for these evil spies giving away all our secrets to the Russians. That the Rosenbergs were never proven to have committed any wrongdoing of any kind was immaterial. They were going to be found guilty regardless of the charges levied against them, and the stiffer the penalty the better. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
