An 8 page research paper that gives an overall view of the Whiskey Rebellion that occurred in the counties of Pennsylvania and Virginia that are west of the Allegheny Mountains in 1794. The rebellion developed due to opposition to a federal excise tax on spirits that was enacted in 1791 according to a plan devised by Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton wherein the states would assume their own debts.
