AIDS/HIV infection. This discovery is that the HIV virus is able to attack the first line of
defense against invasion, the CD-4 cells responsible for collecting invading particles and
delivering them to the lymph nodes where the first real attack is mounted. This ability of
the HIV virus to replicate while contained in the CD-4 cells effectively turns them into
"Trojan horses" by the time they reach the lymph nodes. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
