Industrialism And Liberalism In America: Repelling
Ideologies?
[ send me this paper ]
12 pages in length. The changing face of the United States throughout the industrial and post-industrial eras appears to have called into question some of the fundamental assumptions of traditional American liberal ideology. Clearly, one can readily surmise that such ideology has been transformed in response to the social and economic changes that have occurred since the late-nineteenth century. To what extent have the core assumptions of American liberalism continued to dominate American political culture? When one considers whether or not American liberalism has suffered irrevocably, it becomes clear that liberalism, in and of itself, was at least partly responsible for some of these changes. Injustices in the Global South: The Problems Manifested by the Existing Trade Regime
[ send me this paper ]
A 21 page examination of the multitude of factors influencing and related to the world trade regime as it impacts the global south. The author contends that the current trade regime operates against the interest of the global south. The framework for positive change, however, is already in place in this region with the IMF and the World Bank. While admittedly these funds have as many failures to their credit as successes, with certain manipulations the trade regime can evolve to promote the prosperity and the development of the global south. Bibliography lists 23 sources.

Innovative Policies Initiated by Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP)
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 12 page paper discussing the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in Japan and some of their innovative policies. Since the formation of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in Japan in 1955 resulting from the unification of several small conservative parties, the LDP has managed to initiate several innovative economic and national policies which have allowed Japan to recover from its post World War II depressive economy. The LDP, although conservative in nature, has adapted many international political techniques, both conservative and socialist, to improve the economy in Japan to the extent that it is now one of the leading industrialized nations in the world. The LDP government’s policies have involved a great deal of cooperative measures which allow for the support of large industries, small businesses, farming and support of a welfare system. In all cases, the government’s role has been to aid and support the increased economy in Japan and spurring the nation into total employment. In times of decreased support of the agricultural and small business industries in other countries in the West, Japan increased their support of farmers and small business which resulted in growth and prosperity in both cases. The LDP has also responded to political and popular pressure in regards to welfare and now has a health care program that is higher than most others in the world. This flexible conservatism is no doubt what is the secret of the success of the LDP and also the success of Japan’s recovery and solid economic standing on the world stage.

Interest Group Liberalism
[ send me this paper ]
This 11 page report discusses the
impact and influence of interest groups in the functions of
government in the United States. Recently, it has appeared that
the “people” with the best representation in the government are
not individual people at all but the special interest groups that
ostensibly position themselves to “represent” the thinking of the
people. Bargaining groups or interests control the decisions of
government and the end result is the creation of laws that
apportion out the true power of the state to interest groups with
the power and organization to influence government agencies,
neglecting people who do not belong to such groups, and
maintaining the privileges of those who do. Bibliography lists 10
sources.
