France's Cohabitation System: Impact Upon The French Polity
[ send me this paper ]
15 pages in length. There can be little argument
surrounding the fact that cohabitation between French President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minster Lionel Jospin has experienced some rough patches; while both political representatives strive to maintain France's domestic policy for the benefit of all, the fact that each man's ideals sometimes originate from divergent domains often leads to disagreements of substantial proportion. Cohabitation between the French President and Prime Minister is a relatively new venture, having only been in existence since 1986. As the third period representatives, Chirac and Jospin have proven their prowess at keeping alive both the essence of cohabitation, as well as the political and personal struggles inherent to such a system. Bibliography lists 11 sources.

Free Movement Of Persons Within The European Community
[ send me this paper ]
10 pages in length. The benefit of being a foreign national residing in another member state has gained significant value with the application of the European Community's provisions on free movement. However, there are circumstances inherent to each individual that may preclude absolute inclusion into a new community, some of which are left up to the individual states to decide under umbrella protection of the EC. While it may be legally questionable as to the circumstances under which Reena was unable to secure work from various employers, there is no question as to the viable actions taken on account of her association with a French terrorist organization. Bibliography lists 8 sources.

Friedrich Fabri's "Bedarf Deutschland Der Kolonien?: Likely To Produce Some Sort Of Rivalry Between Germany And Great Britain?
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. Considered to be an imperialist propagandist, Friedrich Fabri's Bedarf Deutschland Der Kolonien? (Does German Need Colonies?) spelled certain rivalry between Germany and Great Britain due to its argument in support of colonial markets, new investment areas and surplus population outlets. This well-received piece of literary work gave rise to a call for political, social, economic and military strength inherent to colonization, inasmuch as Fabri readily compares the benefits of Great Britain's colonizing efforts as compared to the virtually nonexistent presence of German settlements. No additional sources cited.

German Success With Blitzkrieg : 1939-1942
[ send me this paper ]
A 9 page paper that begins by explaining the concept and history of blitzkrieg, a combat war tactic that was initially advanced by a British Colonel. Given Germany's limited resources at the end of World War I, they needed to build their military forces to be stronger and faster; they not only used the idea of blitzkrieg, they enhanced it, especially when Hitler took power in 1933. This essay discusses the essential elements of a blitzkrieg attack and how the Germans used this tactic successfully until 1942. Their attempt to take the Soviet Union and the whole of North Africa led to defeat, however. The importance of logistics, particularly those over which military leaders cannot control, are discussed. The use of blitzkrieg in Poland, France, Belgium, Holland and other nations is explained and discussed as is the eventual downfall of the German military. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
