The theoretical framework should include a hypothesis and study outline which would take into account other factors which may also be causing teen obesity. Because of the various factors which may be involved, a large study group would be recommended and the survey distribution would be most effective through the school system which has recorded large response rates with other health related surveys in the past. In addition, investigators will have to determine the definitions to be used in the study based on commonly used references, such as BMI, and what indicators they wish to properly measure and compare for a high confidence level in their findings.
