Imaginary Homicide Crime Scene
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. The call came in to the Arson Investigation Department just after 9 pm Monday evening that: A seventy-year-old woman had been found dead in her home by a suspected explosive device. Upon arrival, the first thing the investigator noted in the overall attempt to recognize, document, collect, preserve and analyze the physical evidence was the distinct post-explosive odor attributed to detonation aftermath. The next door neighbor was immediately at the investigator's side offering details as she knew them, only one of which was of any actual benefit: The fresh, clear print of a man's athletic shoe was identified in the flowerbed just outside the front door. This was a potentially critical piece of information inasmuch as the elderly woman lived alone, had no sons or brothers, and was not seeing anyone. Bibliography lists 5 sources.

Issues Concerning Forensic Testing
[ send me this paper ]
4 pages in length. As with any other situation where critical thinking and decision-making must occur simultaneously, allowing interns to perform forensic testing may cause more of a problem than it solves. This is not to say that interns should never be given the opportunity to partake in forensics testing, but rather that a very strict set of guidelines must be in place – along with qualified overseers – in order for preventable mistakes to be avoided. When the issue at hand is murder, however, interns should be like children at an adult function: seen but not heard. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
