A Fantasy Football League’s Decision to Switch Web Servers
[ send me this paper ]
This
6 page report discusses the reasons and processes involved in
switching servers for a fantasy football league. The decision to
switch web servers, regardless if it is a personal or business
decision or simply an economic one, requires that the person or
organization doing the switching understand what it is that he or
she wants to accomplish as a result of the switch. Even when the
server set-up is related to something as seemingly frivolous as a
fantasy football league, the fact remains that user requirements
must be appropriately matched with server capabilities.

Adding a Knowledge Management System
[ send me this paper ]
A 13 page paper discussing the addition of a knowledge management system to an existing e-system, in this case drug retailer Rite Aid’s e-commerce efforts. As specific systems, they have existed only for a relatively short time. As for feasibility, many organizations have enough trouble defining what they would want from a knowledge management system to make any such addition impractical. One of the hallmarks of successful IT project management and completion is that there are highly specific and narrowly-defined end goals quite clear at the beginning. The purpose here is to follow a knowledge management upgrade through the process of being added to an existing electronic system. Bibliography lists 9 sources.

Administrator Dilemma
[ send me this paper ]
3 pages in length. Nick Klaws is well within his rights - both by policy and ethics - to suspend Joe Blow's account for failing to uphold university protocol that states school computers are to be used only for school-related reasons. That Joe was conducting personal business by earning money from a school computer gave Nick enough reason to pull rank and remove his privileges. Surveillance, even though significantly intrusive, plays an integral role in saving society from itself, given the fact that people like Joe are taking less and less responsibility for their own actions and how they may create a damaging influence upon others, a pertinent reason why this is a computer ethics problem and not just a common ethics problem. No bibliography.
