Is Marxian Communism a Religion?
[ send me this paper ]
This is a 6 page paper discussing whether or not Marxian Communism can be considered a religion in itself. Marxian Communism was considered a functional alternative to the society in which the oppressed proletariat lived within the 1800s. The definition of religion includes aspects which are functional for society, in which Communism can fulfill; however, the definition of religion also includes a substantive or spiritual aspect which exists outside of the structure of society and reality which Communism cannot fulfill. For this reason, Marxian Communism can be considered religious in its dedication to its political ideals and the dedication of those who believe in its structure but cannot be consider a religion as it does not fulfill people’s spiritual needs.

Is Nationalism a Uniquely Western Phenomenon in European Civilization?
[ send me this paper ]
An 8 page address to the question of how nationalism has affected Eastern verses Western European countries and to the question as to how nationalism has affected the evolution of liberal democracies in these countries. While nationalism has been evidenced time and time again among the western European countries and, in fact, has resulted in the evolution of liberal democracy, it is not limited to western Europe. Indeed, nationalism has made its presence known among eastern European countries as well. Jefferson’s Virginia
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Discussion of the book "Political Leadership in Jefferson’s Virginia" by Daniel P. Jordan. This paper explains the differences of political sentiment among the different political parties. As the book goes on to explain, the people resolve themselves naturally into two components; that of the authoritarian, which favors government that controls the people, and that of the democratic that favors government controlled by the people. The nation of people chooses a path that is, in fact, sought by one or the other of the above two parties. Includes quotes from Thomas Jefferson and explores the principles upon which the government was founded. Bibliography cites one source.

JFK: Conspiracy or Tragedy?
[ send me this paper ]
(10 pp) This November 22 will mark the 35th
anniversary of the slaying of John Fitzgerald
Kennedy. And as the memories return for some, the
cottage industry that endlessly theorizes about the
"truth" behind Kennedy's death will continue to
do battle against the stodgy "Lee Harvey Oswald,
acting alone" establishment on a scale bordering
King Kong and the airplane. I personally support
the tragedy - one gun, one crazed killer theory.

John Locke and the U.S. Constitution
[ send me this paper ]
This 6 page report
discusses the fact that although almost a century separated John
Locke’s writing from the creation of the British colonists

ultimate development of the United States’ constitution, the
thinking of John Locke (1632-1704) played an important role in
the mindset of Americans in its earliest years. As a result, his
thinking can also be seen in the structure of the U.S.
Constitution. Bibliography lists 6 sources.

John Locke/Second Treatise
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page essay that discusses Locke's purpose in writing his Second Treatise on Government. In his preface, Locke expresses his intention to justify the rule of King William and disprove the philosophy of Robert Filmer. In his Second Treatise, Locke succeeds in his purpose, showing that government whose sovereignty derives form the consent of the governed need not lay a foundation for perpetual "Disorder and Mischief, Tumult, Sedition and Rebellion" (Locke, 1998). He achieves this purpose largely through his logical commentary, which distinguishes between a State of Nature (SN) and a State of War (SW). Bibliography lists 2 sources.
