Necessary Compromise in Government.
[ send me this paper ]
(5 pp) The United States Constitution defines
the rights of its citizens and the rights of those
geographical areas called states. It also defines the structures and the powers of the federal government, and loosely labels the three major areas of government as the executive branch, the legislative branch and the judicial branch.
Those who framed that document were well
aware of the tendencies of humans to first be moved
by their own causes rather than those of the nation,
and developed measures that each of the three
segments of government would serve as a "check and
balance" mechanism against the other. In this
discussion we will look at some of the "wish list"
items of the current United States president,
George W. Bush, see if they are causing conflict,
and which factors encourage compromise.

Declaration of Independence? This paper also uncovers the real
reason behind negative campaigning: To deliberately cause voters
to NOT go to the polls. This surprising and interesting topic is
covered in this well-written paper. Bibliography lists 6

Neoliberalism Causes Democratization Within Modern Latin America: Disagree
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. The concept of neoliberalism speaks to the changes that are occurring in relation to globalization and international politics within modern Latin America; however, it is not associated with the cause of democratization. An example of this can be found with the neoliberal export-oriented industrialization model, which was implemented during the 1980's and 1990's as a means by which to overcome the devastating effects that import substitution industrialization (ISI) had imparted upon Mexico's quest for urban existence. Nevada Congressman John Ensign: Home Style And Hill Style Of Representation
[ send me this paper ]
8 pages in length. John Ensign is not what most people would envision as a typical politician. But that is exactly what he did and did well. The political world was sent spinning when Ensign won the southern Nevada Congressional seat in 1994, which started a short but illustrious career that was committed to helping Nevadans. New York City And Political Machines: Corruptive Effects
[ send me this paper ]
14 pages in length. American politics had been on such a roll since the Jeffersonian era that it only seemed appropriate -- to the politicians, at least -- that the concept of political machines be utilized to aid those needing financial campaign support. Through these machines, local, state and national parties were able to collect such support through civil service assessments, financiers, public banquets, delegate taxes, meeting fees and private contributions. One of the most questionable tactics of these political machines, however, was the manner in which the politicians took advantage of immigrant workers. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
