Hitler's Takeover and the Weimar Republic
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length.
Throughout history there have been many scholars and citizens who
have asked, "What if?" What if Hitler had not risen to power,
what if the Nazi regime had never begun, what if, somehow, there
had been a way to foresee what would happen? If there had been
no Hitler regime, think of the untold pain that would have been
spared and the history slates that could be wiped clean. This
paper tells how we very nearly could have escaped Hitler's rise
to power. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

How the Scientific Revolution Created the Environment for the
Enlightenment
[ send me this paper ]
This 6 page report discusses how the intellectual
world was reshaped by the Scientific Revolution and the
contributions made by the scientists that existed between the
times of Copernicus and Newton. Their contributions then led to
the development of The Enlightenment, a time in which
the world was opening up, literally, in immeasurable ways. The
logic of the philosophers, writers, and other intellectuals of
time was that if the human beings of the Scientific Revolution
could so unlock doors behind which the laws of the universe were
hidden, God's own laws, why couldn’t it also be possible to
determine the laws elemental in all aspects of nature and
society? Bibliography lists 4 sources.

Imperialism: The Highest Form Of European Capitalism
[ send me this paper ]
6 pages in length. At the time of World War I,
totalitarianism was taking a stronghold upon Europe, while the Great Depression proved to threaten the nature and destiny of the Western civilization. The Enlightenment had begun to show signs of wear, directly affecting the manner by which freedom and reason were slowly but surely being cast aside. It can readily be argued that with the weakening influence of World War I, reason and freedom stood little chance of escaping the impact of totalitarianism. Through the means of such barbarism, those who were intellectually undisciplined and culturally unrefined would soon serve as the new ambassadors to Europe's existence. Asserting that such masses would prove fatal to European cultural, economic and political progress, critics were mightily concerned with the imperialistic implications of such a trend. Indeed, mass culture was the key to the complete and utter destruction of European civilization, inasmuch as the concept of Imperialism was readily overtaking the entire continent as the highest form of European capitalism. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
