Native American Uniformity in an Ecological World View?: A Polemic Approach to Demonstrating or Refuting the Validity of a Popular Perception
[ send me this paper ]
A 15 page discussion of the popular perception that Native Americans exhibit a uniform ecological world view. Presents supporting and detracting arguments for this view. Notes first that the sheer diversity of Native American cultures and individuals would make it unlikely that such a uniformity in view exists. The author then points out demonstrated differences in the way that Native Americans interact with their environment as opposed to the way those of European backgrounds interact with theirs, differences which would appear to support the contention of a uniform ecological world view among Native Americans. Bibliography lists 15 sources.

Natural Gas as a Fuel in Diesel Engines
[ send me this paper ]
An 18 page paper discussing research in
introducing natural gas as an enhancer for diesel fuel. Natural gas cannot fully substitute for
any fuel in any type of internal combustion engine, but there have been attempts to use a
pilot injection of diesel followed by injection of natural gas. The nature of natural gas is
such that the diesel's continuous air supply is detrimental. The pilot diesel - natural gas
combination has been successful in single-cylinder engines, but in no other diesel engines of
any greater number of cylinders. Includes 2 diagrams and a chart. Bibliography lists 8
sources.

Natural Gas As A Transportation Fuel
[ send me this paper ]
5 pages in length. Without question, the world's energy demand has increased due directly to the fact that the population continues to rise. What this translates to in correlating statistics is that energy demands throughout the past half-century have tripled, the global economy has quintupled and the world population increased twofold. If the human species is going to sustain its existence much past the new millennium, alternative fuel sources – such as natural gas – must be implemented in virtually every sector of transportation. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
